Mark Maher was born in America, and has lived and worked in Finland since 1996. His artwork is exhibited regularly in the U.S. and Europe and employs collage, xerography, photography, critical writing, painting, poetry, and fictional artifacts. Maher’s methods continue to evolve – but his motivations remain constant: “I think what’s passing through all my work is a simultaneous feeling of the depth and beauty of this mystery that we share, and also haw it’s been routinely disrespected by the world we live in.”

Maher successfully avoided art school but holds degrees in Art History and Cultural Anthropology. In addition to his artwork, Maher writes professionally, most notably about contemporary art and culture.
